Because of my work with grounding, I was recently contacted by an amazing man, Jed Diamond, PhD.

 

His passion is helping men cope with the immense amount of stress placed on them.

Stress on men kills… point blank.

Whether from harming men physically (high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, etc…) or emotionally (depression, mood disorders, suicide, etc..) or spiritually (increased feelings of isolation and despair) the bottom line is that men are under killer stress every day.

Jed uses grounding techniques in his own private coaching practice and in his own life and has found that being grounded can make a huge difference in stress reduction and quality of life.

I invited him on my website today because I knew that this information would be very important to my readers out there who are already interested and on board with the practice of grounding, as well as anyone on earth who loves and cares for a man under stress.

He has recently released an amazing book that expounds on not only grounding but several other immensely successful healing modalities that anyone, anywhere can master.

His book, MenAlive: Stop Killer Stress With Simple Energy Healing Tools was one of the best books I’ve read in a long, long time.

If you ever wanted to save yourself about a decade’s worth of time spent reading all the great discoveries by the quantum physics masters and energy healers of our time, you could grab Dr. Diamond’s book and get caught up within a few nights of spell binding reading.

Jed explains clearly and passionately why today’s man is under more stress than ever in the history of mankind… but more importantly he places at your fingertips tools to handle the stress and even thrive despite it.

Jed himself certainly has thrived under many horrific life conditions that he speaks openly and engagingly about in the book — from his father’s suicide attempt to his own employment ups and downs… Jed’s words are compelling and stirring and alarming and compassionate, all rolled into one.

By the time I was done reading this book, I was adamant that every single man I know should read it (its in my hubby’s hands as I type this!) as well as every woman who loves a man… whether she be a mother, wife, sister or a friend.

 

I asked Jed to answer some questions for me here today so you could get a sense whether the males you love are under killer stress and what to do about it.

 

1. What was one “A-ha!” moment in your life that really convinced you beyond doubt that energy and emotion both affect health?

 

I’ve had a number of A-ha experiences over the years.

The first one that convinced me of the power of energy healing occurred when I was able to heal a life-long injury to my shoulder using Emotional Freedom Techniques, also known as EFT or Tapping.

I had injured my left shoulder playing football as a kid and over the years I had chronic pain and limited mobility.

When my doctor suggested the only thing that might help was surgery, I sought another opinion.

I learned about EFT and tried it. After a few sessions, on a scale of 1 to 10 with 10 being excruciating pain and 1 being no pain at all, I had gone from an 8 to a 2. My range of motion went from extremely limited to a full range of motion.

After a few more sessions, all pain was eliminated. It seemed like magic at the time and I had trouble believing the results.

I knew I needed to learn more about these energy healing approaches.

 

2. You mention four amazing energy healing modalities that can make a huge impact in health and healing.

If you absolutely had to pick one and only one modality to use — which one would it be?

 

If I had to choose one, I’d go with Grounding.

It’s the most basic of all these tools, the easiest to use, the least expensive, and there are a number of scientific studies demonstrating its effectiveness.

It relieves stress, improves sleep, decreases inflammation in the body, improves heart health and has a number of other demonstrated benefits.

 

3. Why did you choose to focus on men’s stress over stress in general?

 

Although stress levels are on the rise for both men and women, men are particularly impacted.

One indication of this can be seen in the higher suicide rates that are seen in males vs. females at all stages of life.

For instance:

For those 15 to 19 years of age, the suicide rate for boys is 4 times higher than for girls.

For those 20 to 24 years of age, the suicide rate for men is 5 ½ times higher than for women.

For those 25 to 64 years of age, the suicide rate is 3 to 4 times higher for males than females.

For those 65 or older, the suicide rate for males is 6 to 18 times higher for males than
females.

In addition, there is more focus on women’s health than there is on men’s health. My particular purpose in life is to help men, and the women who love them, to live well throughout their lives.

 

4. If women are in a relationship with a male partner, what are some signs that his stress levels are high?

 

The most common signs that women recognize that are indicators of increasing stress in men are the following:

1. Irritability and anger: More and more small things bother him. You find yourself walking on egg shells afraid that something you say or do will set him off.

2. Numbing out and closing down: When you ask him “what’s wrong,” he tells you “nothing.” His emotions seem totally shut down and he withdraws more from contact and connection.

3. Use of escapes: He may drink more or use drugs, escape into overwork, the internet, or pornography. When you question him, he may become defensive and blaming.

Often trying to get him to deal directly with these issues causes him to become more irritable, closed down, or withdrawn.

That’s why I encourage women to read the book and learn what they can do for themselves and how to get through to a man who is often in denial.

 

 

5. I absolutely loved the book and highly recommend everyone who is male and everyone who loves a
male to read it.

My next big project is to save the lives of a million men.

When I was five-years old and my father was forty-two, he tried to commit suicide. The stresses of trying to earn a living and provide for his family during difficult economic times overwhelmed him.

Though he didn’t die physically, he was crippled emotionally and our lives were never the same. I grew up wondering what happened to my father and to so many other wounded fathers.

Men today, and the women and children who love them, need our help as never before.

“Over 330,000 lives would be saved in a single year in the U.S. alone if men’s risk of dying was as low as women’s,” says University of Michigan researcher, Daniel J. Kruger, PhD.

“Being male is now the single largest demographic factor for early death,” says Kruger’s colleague, Randolph M. Nesse, M.D.

I grieve for the men and boys whose lives are cut short and for the women and families left behind.

Here’s my simple idea: We know stress kills, physically, emotionally, and spiritually.

If we can reduce men’s risk of death to the same level as women’s, we can save nearly a million men, in the U.S. alone, within three years. Writing this book is one way I’m helping.
