Today is the Fall Equinox, so I’m share with you my 15 favorite ways to get grounded outside in the fresh autumn air.  Pick one to do today as a way to celebrate the fall equinox, and let’s see how many of the other one’s you can get done in the next 3 months!

Don’t let this beautiful wonderful refreshing and healing season pass you by without enjoying its splendor outdoors, as much as possible.  Let’s all go outside and get grounded today… share this with your friends and bookmark this page too, so you can come back and do every single one of these activities throughout the fall season.

15 Fall Activities To Do Outside Grounded:


  1. Take a warm cup of apple cider or tea outside and drink it slowly while grounding
  2. Go heart spotting in nature: find a heart-shaped leaf, rock, cloud, or spiral pattern in a pinecone, seed pod, or branch
  3. Find the most beautiful fall colors on one of your favorite trees outside and sit underneath it
  4. Feel the earth ease your discomfort: rate pain from 1–10, ground outside for 15 minutes, and re-rate
  5. Feel the earth lift your mood: rate your mood 1–10, ground outside for 15 minutes, and re-rate
  6. Use grounding to help with strong emotions — laugh, cry, feel anxious or find relief outside
  7. Create a grounding playlist — 5 or 6 of your favorite songs is perfect for a 20-minute session
  8. Do your yoga or physical therapy stretches outside
  9. Host a potluck dinner outside at a park or in your yard
  10. Tend to your yard — weed, mulch, prune trees, or clean porch/patio spaces
  11. Try art therapy outside: watercolor, doodle, or make nature art from twigs, leaves, stones
  12. Find and walk a local labyrinth barefoot. Not near a labyrinth?  No problem.  Do a simple walking meditation on any path or sidewalk stretch — walk barefoot up and back along a small sidewalk segment, back and forth across a set of pavers, up and down a brick walkway, across a slate, stone or cement patio, etc…
  13. Read a book outside — read one chapter each session until you finish the whole book outdoors
  14. Make a nice fall fire in a firepit — one you may have access to or even renting an inexpensive campsite nearby for the day or night — sit outside by the fire and run through this meditation. Bonus to make a simple meal over the fire afterwards and eat it mindfully like I show you right here!
