My Favorite Thing… about Fall

By far my favorite thing about fall is getting outside more. I do love the summertime and it’s heat driving us to seek out water… the ocean more times then not, pools and sprinklers are wonderful too… but there is something magical about the cooler temps and the golden leaves that seem to draw us out into our front yard more and more. I love to literally just lay on the grass for an hour, watching the kids mill around with the hose, or chalk on our sidewalk, or… like today… play Frisbee (and yes, as usual… in pajamas). Seems […]

The only soap my son will ever use… and it could be yours!

Well… not the actual bar of soap that my son uses. Not only would that be gross, but really and truly, you’d have to fight him tooth and nail to get it away from him. He hates taking a shower, hates soaps and lotions and cream and lip balms and anything remotely girly (he’s a low maintenance kinda guy, just like his Daddy) and the only way I can call a truce with this boy and get him washed up is if I promise him he can use Lana Bella soap. Not exaggerating here. Because this soap, people, is so

Instant Ghost

Have you decided what you are going to be for Halloween yet? I am going as a ghost. And I love love love the ghost cape that Martha Stewart designed… but I don’t love the price. $149.99???? Yep, eight bucks. All you need is several yards

My Favorite Thing… In My Bathroom

This is over three years old now, and it’s still my favorite thing. Now, the lighting is bad in my bathroom, so I didn’t go crazy with taking too many pics. And to be honest, I’m too tired to clean up the bathroom sink that it is hanging next too, so it’s fine with me that the artificial lighting isn’t great any way. But do you see this masterpiece? It was made for me by my adorable husband and precious children, right after we moved into our home. I didn’t have anything to hang my jewelry on, and I wanted

Natural Body Products and Tea… with a Give-a-way!

I first met Connie through a local natural mothers group here in Charleston. I tried her tea and I have not stopped drinking it since… years later, I can say without a doubt her teas are my favorite… ever! And the more I’ve gotten to know Connie, the more I love her… teas or not. She is just, absolutely an honest, true, dear soul, and I really respect everything she does. She homeschools two of her precious children (and one on the way! Congrats Connie!) and fills her days with creating equisite teas, delectable salt scrubs and moisturizers, doedarants, bath

Chocolate Chip cookie recipe… My Favorite Thing… in my Stomach?!?!

My two menfolk love cookies, especially chocolate chip. But my daughter… not so much. In fact, she won’t eat cookies in general. I thought all kids were supposed to love cookies… but guess she got some of this from me… I typically don’t like cake and ice cream. Even as a kid. So it became my mission to find a cookie that I could bake and have my *whole family* enjoy… my daughter included. Finally, after months of excruciating testing (not that my son or husband were complaining) I found a cookie that my daughter loves too! But in these
