Once again, it’s time to post a winter checklist of all the things I have pulled together over the years to keep me feeling my best during the darkest month of the year. With Winter Solstice last weekend and Christmas, Kwanzaa and Winter Holidays this week… this is the perfect time to make sure we are doing all we can to feel our best and slow down and care for our inner spark while the world sleeps on around us. It’s okay to take these winter months slower, to tend to our inner needs more, and to make sure …

And for me… shorter days and more darkness …

My Favorite Winter Solstice tradition… releasing our dreams into the night

Last year I posted this celebration idea *after* Winter Solstice, which does you… dear reader… no good. So this year I wanted to post it the week before… it’s such a simple, easy, and sweet way to mark the darkest day with honor and a bit of candlelight. It is something my entire family looks forward to every year. This Winter Solstice we’ll be traveling, but I’m taking some slips of paper and a few matches so that we can create our sacred space wherever we are. I would love to know that a few of you are out there …

Firestarter Tutorial

Temps are dipping into the cold near-freezing numbers at night here in SC, and instead of turning on my heat, we’ve been having lovely evening fires to heat the house. So that means, starting a fire.  Which can sometimes be frustrating, but not so when you have a fabbo, eco-friendly, completely free, made from stuff lying around your home fire starter on hand!   I originally published this tutorial last May, and I’ve been using my firestarters like crazy.  So I thought this would be the perfect time to re-post… enjoy!!! xoxo, Laura     Ready to get started?
