Saturated Fat Does NOT Increase Mortality

This week, many of us are heading into the holidays.   And as you head into a week of parties and connection and warmth and pot lucks and FOOD… I can think of no better holiday gift than this:   To share with you, directly from the medical literature, the truth that saturated fat does NOT increase mortality.     It’s not about the fat… saturated fat intake does not increase rate of death. It’s about the inflammation and the long term damage that inflammation does to your blood vasculature (and your entire body, from your gut lining to your …

Do Not Give Up… Just Surrender. Surrender = Healing

This past week I was working intensely with several patients on the idea that surrender is sometimes the most healing, empowering, strengthening healing option possible.   Sometimes… to surrender IS to heal. Sharing with my patients why SURRENDER = HEALING reminded me of this blog post I wrote last year, and I had a nudge to re post it again today. Maybe you are the reader I felt that nudge for.   Maybe when life overwhelms you and cracks you open and forces your surrender, you are the one that I’m meant to remind today: surrendering is safe. The very …

Inspiration For Your Journey Today

I am so blessed to receive emails from a dear soul named Michael.   Michael lives across the ocean from me yet speaks right to the heart of things so clearly that I feel as if he is standing right next to me.   Michael knows about big transitions, about pain, about suffering… and because of this he knows a lot about joy, and love, and interconnection.   You see, Michael has inoperable cancer. And yet, through this journey Michael feels alive, he feels love, and he understands more deeply than most of us that emotions are all interconnected… and …

The most vivid intuition I’ve ever gotten

My lovely grandma passed away early last Friday morning…   As I head up to here part of the country for services and to hug my beautiful precious mother and spend time with her, I feel extremely open to spirit and tender.   It is during these times I like to remember some of my most vivid intuitions and enjoy knowing my grandmother is a part of the pure, positive world of spirit.   I remember my very favorite spiritual vision I’ve ever had and I’d like to share that with you here today in memory of my grandmother’s life …

Thoughts On Health… Tribute to a friend

Last weekend, someone I love very dearly passed away. The kind of someone who you know you had a soul contract with… someone who comes into your life and forever alters the path you walk. She was someone who I know I will have a lifetime with again one day… someone who came into my life at the exact perfect time and who opened my eyes to life in a way I had never been able to grasp before. Ever since she transitioned on, I can feel her. Closer than ever, I hold tightly to her presence in my life. …

What it feels like to go back Home.

So I was telling my kids about my recent trip out of the Universe… how it felt so light and expansive to reach past the confines of our universe… and my daughter instantly knew what I was trying to say.   “It reminds me of how I feel when I am swimming. I am holding my breath underwater, and as I come up to the surface, I break through the top and take a big free breath. It feels amazing,” Clara said.   Holy. Crap. YES!   This is what took me paragraph after paragraph to try to explain on …

Thoughts On Health… Death and Dying… revisited.

First, let me say that I really miss the health collage series. I have a collage of the thyroid to share with you, but my (step) grandfather died last week and I have decided to push back the thyroid collage until next Monday. This past week, I’ve been thinking a lot about death and dying, and watching my loved ones grieve. I think I’ve been extremely lucky to have two fabulous role models in my family for death and dying… both my grandmother Grams and my grandfather Cass transitioned quite quickly once death became inevitable. I really admire them for …
