The one health constant you can trust… and bonus: are you are getting enough barefoot time?

Every single day you hear conflicting health information and conflicting health advice. One moment one food is safe to eat, the next moment it is not. Or a supplement that was highly recommended is now under fire for being unsafe. What your accupunturist advises is different from what your chiropractor recommends. Is the FDA reliable? Are the organic foods you purchase GMO? Is that medication the right one for you? In the right dose? Directly touching the earth… sometimes it’s the one and only thing I can turn to in my day. Imaging studies and blood tests and common sense […]

Thoughts On Health… Fabbo study results for Vit D

Sun…     …or rain, get out there and grab the benefits of natural light on our body, mind and soul! Yet another amazing study has come out showing a positive correlation between Vitamin D and mood. This one goes a bit further to show specifically that higher Vitamin D levels are associated with a decreased risk of depression! A new study, recently published in the November 2011 issue of Mayo Clinic Proceedings is the largest to date, involving 12,594 participants. Earlier, smaller studies have shown inconsistent findings on the link between Vitamin D and depression, so these results are

Thoughts On Health… Practicing what I preach

Hi my friends. Remember this video in which I discuss why symptoms and health challenges represent healing? I deeply believe this and had an opportunity to really practice what I preach recently, and I want to share that with you today. http://youtu.be/sY6FmkNc07M   For years and years I’ve struggled with my left tonsil getting chronically infected. Knowing that this was caused by an energy block in my throat chakra, I was excited to see what I could do to facilitate healing. I knew in my heart that when I healed this wound, I would be open and more free and

Thoughts On Health… Eat Your Bacteria!

Hello folks! I hope you are having a great fall so far! I thought I’d do a round-up for you on my favorite way to get my probiotic cultures in. And in my kids. Yes, yogurt has probiotics, but unless you select one that specifically states the amount of probiotic cultures it has on the label, the amount of probiotics you are getting from regular yogurt is really small. At the very beginning of the probiotic trend, I resisted. First of all, I *gasp* actually hate yogurt. My kids and hubby like it but I seriously have to force it

Thoughts On Health… Excercise (dang!)

Oh how I have fallen. I am completely out of my exercise routine… I manage to work in an at-home 20 minute Yoga DVD about twice a week and those 40 minutes, my friend, is the total sum of my exercising attempts lately. At first I told myself it’s okay because I’m young and can get it all back. Hmmm. I think I still can but it’s going to be harder to re-capture my cardiovascular fitness now then it used to be, so instead of maintaining health I will have to re-build it. Bummer.   Then I told

Thoughts on Health FAQ: Uterine Prolapse… or “Thanks a lot, gravity!”

I’ve been asked about uterine prolapse multiple times over the past month or two, so I thought it would be a good topic for my blog. With all of the commercials out there asking you to sue your doctor if you’ve had a mesh implant… and all of the complications that can arise from the surgery, I wanted to share with you my advice for mild prolapse. Avoid surgery. That is my advice for sure. But what can you do to help with mild to moderate prolapse? Enter Jade and Pearl.   Jade and Pearl sell reusable sea pearls (all
