My Fav Toothpastes…

I love love love this toothpaste. It tastes like you dipped your toothbrush in baking soda, then squeezed a fresh lemon over the top. And that’s because that is pretty much the ingredient list on this pure, organic, high quality toothpaste. I love brushing with baking soda… washing your oral muscosa and teeth with baking soda is a fabulous way to re-set your mouth’s pH every morning and every evening… it is gentle on your teeth and neutralizing for breath, too.   I am also a big fan of just sprinkling your toothbrush with baking soda and brushing, […]

Thoughts on Health… Toothpaste.

To use fluoride toothpaste or not… that is the question. Well, if that is the question, here is my answer… we don’t.   If you do a web search on fluoride, you’ll find a million and one articles ranging from rants on fluoride being rat poison to being responsible for causing sudden death in the dentist’s chair. Reading through those articles is almost enough to make me dismiss anti-fluoride claims all together and return to the *safety* of fluoride toothpaste. Almost.   Because after going through great pains to weed through the inflammatory and hyper-fear-based information out there on fluoride,

Photography Assignment, week 3.

Oh my goodness. This week is by far the hardest week to share with you. She wanted us to dance in front of the camera. Gulp. I love to dance around with my kids, but they refused to join in with me. Miles cranked a tune on his iPod… he picked Hot Wings (I Want To Party) featured in the Motion Picture Soundtrack of the movie Rio. We loved that movie, by the way! I went out under the sun and got it over with. And yes, right during the song is when the afternoon school bus just had to

Quickie Post — Wish Me Luck!!!

The teleconference (where I am speaking about opening to intuition… and how you can do it too!!! Yes, you can!!!) is tomorrow night at 7 PM. It is completely free and there have already been several amazing speakers, and there is a great line up for the rest of the week. It’s not too late to sign up! I was just informed that you’ll need to sign up here to get the phone number info emailed to you… and to automatically receive the recordings after the calls. This is great so that you don’t actually have to call in during

Thoughts On Health: A New Hazard of Cell Phone Use

This the third blog post I’ve done regarding non-ionizing radiation and it’s effects on us. With new articles (like this one, in the New York Times) constantly alerting the public of possible hazards to cell phone use, I wanted to give my readers the very latest thinking in the cell phone debate. The first blog post, discussing how cell phones may abnormally effect glucose metabolism in our brains on the side that the user holds the cell phone, introduced one possible explanation for the cell phone/brain tumor link that has been suggested in several studies. The second post, discussing the

Photography Assignment, week 2

Here is the second week of pics I took in the awesome photography course I am taking… Vivienne McMaster’s 4 week self portrait beginner on-line photography class Wading In. If you want to see my first week assignment pics, I show them here. Okay, so this week was about showing snapshots of your day… she said to just snap what you do throughout the day… sticking a little portion of yourself into the shot.  I was taking pictures of my son one day and thought, what the heck… I started tickling him with my foot and this is the shot

My Temper Tantrum

Okay, I know all the blah blah blah. I know it’s healthy for children to grow up and find their own rhythm and pull away from their parents a little and yadda yadda yadda. I know the reason my daughter feels so comfortable finding her way and asking for space is because I have loved her deeply and thoroughly, and I know that giving her a solid ground is why she is able to fly. Beautiful… usually. But once in a while, I just want to throw a big ol’ temper tantrum and say it like it is: I
