The Latest Study To Prove That Grounding Improves Health

On top of the past 25 years of medical research on grounding, a new study has been released showing just how beneficial grounding is to even the most vulnerable humans — preterm infants.   If babies born so early that they are not even meant to be outside of the womb, breathing or eating yet, can be supported by grounding… …then you can understand that no matter what health challenge you face, no matter how dire, grounding can help. These babies were all patients of the Penn State NICU — babies born so early that they needed to be […]

Lithium In Our Drinking Water?

Many recent studies have come out lately showing just how important the mineral lithium is to our health. And I’m all for whatever natural solutions we can find to preserve health… but not this one.   I’ll give you details below on studies that show that long term lithium use is associated with a reduced risk of dementia, and this is on top of previous studies that show that lithium may actually lower our over all lifetime risk of cancer. But adding it to the water supply, instead of just recommending lithium supplementation? Uh… no. I’m not good with that.

Release Stuck Emotions To Truly, Deeply Heal

The theme of releasing stuck emotions has come up several times in the past week with my private patients, so I’m going to take that as a gentle nudge to repost this article on my blog. It’s perfect timing, because fall is a natural time to release and shed all that no longer serves you. As the saying goes, you only have to glance at the beautiful changing colors on the fall trees outside right now to see how very beautiful it is to let go. But what if you are feeling stuck? Letting Go Helps You Heal (Here’s How)

Well I don’t know much. I do know that this world is a complicated, beautiful, painful place. And I have lived quite a few decades and for roughly half of that time I’ve been a practicing physician as well, so I’ve learned quite a bit about what allows the human body to be resilient to stress and trauma and illness and disease. And what I’ve found is that surrendering is what allows healing to happen.   Surrendering = healing.   What heals people in real life is the total opposite of what I learned about healing in medical school. We

Trauma Earlier In Life Ups Risk Of Surgery Later… Here’s Why

A new study shows what we can already *feel* — — that trauma in childhood affects our physical health as an adult.     Our cells, organs, tissues, physical body holds on to the effects of emotional trauma and this energetic tension literally changes how our body is able to function. I’ve written previous blog posts highlighting this, how our body’s health is an expression of our emotional well being, in articles such as:   Your Outlook Can Literally Speed Brain Decline (and 9 ways to stop it) Anxiety Doubles Cancer Mortality. It Doesn’t Have To… Here’s How. OCD May

3 Steps To The Healthiest Mouth (And Less Headaches Too)

A few months ago, I wrote an article that highlights how the balance of bacteria in your gut can make a difference in your mood, your memory… even treating autism! Today’s medical study highlights this delicate balance even further.   Could it be that the bacteria that live in your mouth affect your body’s health? Turns out, the answer is yes… …the bacteria in our mouth can actually trigger migraine. Here’s how:   Nitrates have long been revealed as a headache trigger — found in foods like red wine, chocolates, processed meats and some cheeses, migraine sufferers have long been
