Okay, so you have a bit of urgency or discomfort when you urinate… or maybe some pain, or some feeling of things not being *right*… you are thinking UTI. Here are some easy and fabulous steps you can do routinely to not only prevent a UTI, but to nip …

Thoughts on Health… Fish Oil effective treatment for ADHD

My two sweetie pie children at the beach. Okay, this may be a stretch to include in the fish oil post, but hey… you know there are fish in this pic… and what else am I gonna use as a visual?   I feel like I am trapped in backwards world.   Honestly. We’ve known for quite a while that Omega 3 fatty acids are absolutely fabulous for the body… especially the brain… so you’d think this study, which shows Omega 3 supplementation is an effective treatment for ADHD, is no big surprise to the medical community.  Wrong. Fish …

Thoughts On Health… my fav water filter

You all know how I feel about fluoride. I’ve blogged here about why I avoid it in my toothpaste and why I don’t really want to be drinking it, either. In fact, as I get older and have passed the age of peak bone density (and anyone who is over the age of 30 has) I want to preserve bone mass more than ever. I really think it is important that I avoid fluoride altogether (and soy too.) Alas, this is impossible. If you eat food grown from the earth, you consume fluoride. Thanks to the government mass medicating …

Thoughts on Health… Chronic Pain

Thanks for the wonderful feedback on the video I posted last week. If you missed it, you can check it out here. In that video, I presented the idea that disease is evidence of health. I used acute illnesses (like runny noses) and physical symptoms (like a tumor) to illustrate how physically expressing a disease allows movement towards health. I got several emails afterwards asking how chronic pain would play into that. So this video is really like part 2 — Disease as Evidence of Health… Chronic conditions. In it, I talk about what the energy of chronic pain represents …

My Fav Toothpastes…

I love love love this toothpaste. It tastes like you dipped your toothbrush in baking soda, then squeezed a fresh lemon over the top. And that’s because that is pretty much the ingredient list on this pure, organic, high quality toothpaste. I love brushing with baking soda… washing your oral muscosa and teeth with baking soda is a fabulous way to re-set your mouth’s pH every morning and every evening… it is gentle on your teeth and neutralizing for breath, too.   I am also a big fan of just sprinkling your toothbrush with baking soda and brushing, …

Thoughts on Health… Toothpaste.

To use fluoride toothpaste or not… that is the question. Well, if that is the question, here is my answer… we don’t.   If you do a web search on fluoride, you’ll find a million and one articles ranging from rants on fluoride being rat poison to being responsible for causing sudden death in the dentist’s chair. Reading through those articles is almost enough to make me dismiss anti-fluoride claims all together and return to the *safety* of fluoride toothpaste. Almost.   Because after going through great pains to weed through the inflammatory and hyper-fear-based information out there on fluoride, …
