Tylenol Found to Worsen Asthma

Here is one of my newer works of art… a mixed media collage I created out of my old medical school anatomy book. I call it A New Rx and after you read this post today, I think you’ll be agreeing it’s time for a change in plans. Man. I do greatly prefer revealing the positive side of holistic and natural healthcare and focusing on the good news to be found among the medical literature. But occasionally I come across something that I really want my peeps to KNOW and I want to be sure the this information gets out

Honey To Speed Wound Healing (and reduce scarring!)

You already know I love honey to ease seasonal allergy symptoms… this pic shows the honey lollipops I love to make… and literally my son’s allergy complaints are non-existent this year. And you know I scour the medical literature on your behalf to bring you all the positive, uplifting, cutting edge and natural health advice possible… (like how chocolate is great for brain and heart health! Yes sir! Give me another!) So I’ve got something else easy and natural that is proven to work, even in the cynical and cold/calculating world of medicine… honey stood up as a wound healing

The one health constant you can trust… and bonus: are you are getting enough barefoot time?

Every single day you hear conflicting health information and conflicting health advice. One moment one food is safe to eat, the next moment it is not. Or a supplement that was highly recommended is now under fire for being unsafe. What your accupunturist advises is different from what your chiropractor recommends. Is the FDA reliable? Are the organic foods you purchase GMO? Is that medication the right one for you? In the right dose? Directly touching the earth… sometimes it’s the one and only thing I can turn to in my day. Imaging studies and blood tests and common sense

To The Moon And Back…

That’s how lucky I’ve been feeling lately. My son literally just asked me “How come we meet the nicest people?” and I totally agree with him. We have just spent the past five days meeting new folks… from men who have walked on the moon to the sound and camera crew, the movie director… everyone was just so amazing and the experience was such an honor for me. Thank you so much to my friends and family (you know who you all are!) who were thinking of me and sending me comforting and positive energy as I took a deep

Earthing Goes Mainstream

Have you picked up your spring issue of First for Women? I am so happily surprised that such a mainstream article carried my earthing recommendation in the March issue!   Under the article “Headache Remedies Doctors Swear By,” I am quoted in the first recommendation. In it, I recommend contacting the earth with your barefeet for 10 minutes to reduce or allieviate headaches. Woot! Woot!         I’m just thrilled this holistic advice had the chance to reach millions of folks who might not otherwise be seeking out alternative ideas. Yay to the power of a cheap

Inspiration Wednesdays… I shredded my old anatomy textbook and came up with this instead!

Okay, maybe I didn’t shred it… more like tore it apart. I created several new works of art out of it, and wanted to share the first one with you here:       I had so much fun with this artwork… I literally ripped out the page from my old anatomy textbook and painted in the new *reality* that I have discovered is the true secret to health. Being a physician it is so interesting for me to look back and reflect on what we were taught as impressionable young students in medical school… the model for disease and
