Welcome MaryJanes Farm Readers! (I’ve got a master list of tutorials for you!)

If you subscribe to my all time fav magazine, MaryJanes Farm, and read the article MJF featured about me in the most recent issue, then I just want to give you a big welcome and hello for swinging by my website today! I was so thrilled to be featured on pages 10 – 14 of the Oct/Nov issue that just hit newsstands this week, speaking about the healing benefits of touching the earth. (pics at the end of this blog post!) In fact, it was so much fun that MaryJane asked me to contribute a routine health column for her …

Tired? Why your sacral chakra needs your attention right now!

Last week I talked about the base chakra and the physical symptoms you might be feeling (and how to release them!) if you have base chakra issues. Today, let’s move on to our second chakra, the sacral chakra.   Patients who come to me feeling tired, in adrenal fatigue, burnt out, desiring more energy and missing that fresh spark of creativity they used to have are my second chakra peeps.   Do any of these symptoms sound familiar? horrible PMS, painful cramps or miserable perimenopausal symptoms infertility struggles low back pain sciatica pain chronic fatigue or loss of joyful energy …

Looking Deeply…

See Beyond The Surface… healing artwork   There really are two ways to look at everything, and the more I remember that the more flexible and kind and patient and loving I am able to be. So I created this artwork as a physical reminder. Literally ripping an old anatomy diagram of the eyeball out from my med school textbook, I left half the way they taught it. Cold and clinical. Can’t tell if the eyeball is a dead or living representation… just the mere facts. But then I added the energy, the life force to the second half… …

Medicine vs. Intuition…. Either/Or?

This arrived along with our usual jumble of medical journals and publications, and I was so excited: Intuition made the front cover!?!? How awesome is this! I opened it up, not caring if it were going to be a positive review of intuition in medicine or a negative one, just so glad there were going to be addressing the role of intuition in patient care at all!   Well, that was the error in my thinking, I suppose. It wasn’t a review of the role of intuition in patient care. It was completely and utterly about how using ICD coding …

New Beginnings

The past several nights have been near freezing temps and I wake to find a frosty lawn. It makes me worry that I put my seedlings out too early, so I go to check on how they have survived in their makeshift greenhouses. Walking out onto my front porch, I’m reminded that life doesn’t always run as smoothly as we hope. Not only have the temps been dipping below what I was anticipating, but the cover to one of my greenhouses has blown away in this passionate windy weather we’ve been having. Making do, by putting some saran wrap over …

Happy Valentine’s Day… and, oh well, might as well talk about periods anyway. Menstruation Part III

This post will feature Valentine’s touches we’ve had in our home over the past week or so… here, some roses from my husband in my work space This might be a weird coincidence, but heck, on some level it is fitting. I mean, Valentine’s Day is a day of love and romance… and we all know there is a fair chance our reproductive system will be involved in that in some way. So what a better tribute to our female power and feminine allure then to conclude our three part series on Menstruation on Valentines Day. If you missed the …

Thoughts on Health… healing always comes from YOU

I am elbow deep working on several health collages… I’ve got some good ones for you, including the Immune System (thank you Gabrielle for the recommendation!)… Fibromyalgia… Ear… Eye… Knee and Hip… but none are ready to show you just yet. So in the meantime, I had a thought on health that I was discussing with my kids yesterday. I was out and about with them, driving in the car, and somehow we were talking about antibiotics. I made the point to them that antibiotics are not what heals you… the antibiotics work to slow down the replication process of …
