Thoughts On Health… Practicing what I preach

Hi my friends. Remember this video in which I discuss why symptoms and health challenges represent healing? I deeply believe this and had an opportunity to really practice what I preach recently, and I want to share that with you today. http://youtu.be/sY6FmkNc07M   For years and years I’ve struggled with my left tonsil getting chronically infected. Knowing that this was caused by an energy block in my throat chakra, I was excited to see what I could do to facilitate healing. I knew in my heart that when I healed this wound, I would be open and more free and […]

Thoughts On Health… Celebrate Becoming A Woman

The most special girl in the world, the most special girl in *my* world anyway… is now a young woman. She takes my breath away with how effortlessly she welcomed womanhood and menstruation into her life… she is healthy and radiant and I am the most lucky mama in the entire UNIVERSE to travel this road with her… watching her fly. We were heading out the door to spend a warm November day on the beach when she found out. Welcoming her transition with the calmly lapping waves and under the warm blessed sun just felt so right. Oh I

Cold Relief Kit

I recently cleaned out my bathroom cabinets, and got them stocked and ready for this fall and winter. Fresh coconut oil for chapped winter skin, Vitamin D and fish oil and Vitamin C supplements to boost our immune system… and THESE indispensible products from Lana Bella:       My favorite soaps on earth. I love them so much, I’ve blogged about them before. Lots of hand washing throughout the cold and flu season is the #1 thing you can do to protect yourself from getting sick. I believe it is more important than supplements, then a flu shot, then

Thoughts On Health… Eat Your Bacteria!

Hello folks! I hope you are having a great fall so far! I thought I’d do a round-up for you on my favorite way to get my probiotic cultures in. And in my kids. Yes, yogurt has probiotics, but unless you select one that specifically states the amount of probiotic cultures it has on the label, the amount of probiotics you are getting from regular yogurt is really small. At the very beginning of the probiotic trend, I resisted. First of all, I *gasp* actually hate yogurt. My kids and hubby like it but I seriously have to force it

Favorite Thoughts On Health… Our Legs

(first posted in Sept, 2010…) Feelings are much like waves. We can’t stop them from coming, but we can choose which ones to surf. – Martensson Basically, I like to think of lower extremity pain and joint issues as standing on a surf board. You can’t move very far in any direction, you are limited by this surf board you are standing on. You aren’t walking, you are just standing your ground. Yet your life is moving forward, ever forward, on a big huge wave of energy. You don’t need to be mobile to realize that you are still gaining

Favorite Thoughts On Health… Loving My Daughter, Loving Myself

(First posted in August of 2010…) These preteen years are uncharted waters for me as a parent. I find that they bring up lots of intense emotions for me, and I wonder why. I am finding that loving my daughter, truly loving her, even in her angry pre-teen moments when she thinks she isn’t lovable, brings me a deep satisfaction and often moves me to tears. Don’t get me wrong… when I speak of my daughter being emotional I’m talking about a 15 minute spell of her feeling irritable and stand-offish… understandable when I take a look at her pre-teen
