How To Feel At Home In Your Body

Most of us live with a sense of not really inhabiting our body fully. We want things to change about our body or about our health before we will actually want to be in it. Or we have some judgement against it, or even disdain for it, on some level. We feel, subconsciously maybe, that our body is against us. We can feel that it’s too damaged by health issues to truly cherish. We have a half hearted sense of tolerating our bodies for the time being. No! You aren’t settling for that! Your body, in exactly […]

Reflections On The Death Transition: What I’ve Seen, What I Feel

As a physician, I’ve had quite a few experiences with patients who were dying, as well as patients who had near death experiences and told me about them. In medical school, I had an attending physician who had a heart transplant. He said as they removed his heart on the operating table, he went somewhere totally different than earth. After putting his new heart in, the surgeon shocked it to get it to start beating again. He says he felt that shock and felt himself feeling pulled back into his physical body and when he woke

Capturing The Universe

This week I have a behind-the-scenes on my latest painting for you.   I was asked to create the cover of an AMAZING life-changing book (more on that as soon as it is published and available to the public!!!) It’s about how we weave and intersect and dance our way through our interactions with others during our time on planet earth, and how we can use this spiraling flow to enhance our connection to others and move through our journey more effortlessly!   Our lives are quite literally, the dance of sacred geometry as we spiral through time and

In honor of the second chakra this week, I am sharing with you an article I once wrote for a feature on Art Snark’s blog many years ago. I still love it and it holds true! How The Simple Act Of Creating Must Create Physical Health I took the scenic route in becoming an artist. The really looooong way around. The kind of path that took me through medical school, residency, and a bit of clinical practice as a physician before I had children and realized my heartsong was to be a mommy and an artist. That kind of long

Thoughts On Health… Crossing Over

“Moving On” There is a special kind of sweetness that comes when someone you love has passed away but you know they are re-joining their soulmate who awaits them. This has happened to me twice in the past six months… I’ve felt a very definite *relief* and deep joy mixed into the sadness and mucky human emotions that death brings up. It’s as though I can feel the joy that this person has in being once again hand-in-hand with the spouse that they missed so much. I get a feeling that they are not looking back as much as folks
