Thoughts on Health… Chronic Pain

Thanks for the wonderful feedback on the video I posted last week. If you missed it, you can check it out here. In that video, I presented the idea that disease is evidence of health. I used acute illnesses (like runny noses) and physical symptoms (like a tumor) to illustrate how physically expressing a disease allows movement towards health. I got several emails afterwards asking how chronic pain would play into that. So this video is really like part 2 — Disease as Evidence of Health… Chronic conditions. In it, I talk about what the energy of chronic pain represents […]

Thoughts on Health… Disease as Evidence of Health

Yes.  I wrote that right.  Disease equals evidence of health.  Or at least the possibility of health.  Think I’m crazy?  Watch my You Tube video to hear me out. It’s my first attempt at a video, and I’d love to know what you think.  I would like to have a video on Thoughts on Health occasionally, as well as silly little things that would be far easier to show you on a video then write about.  Like… next time I henna my hair, I thought I’d give you a sneak peek.  Or next time I’m on an adventure with the

Thoughts On Health… Supporting Women

I’ve felt a strong pull in my heart to support and validate and empower women lately. I feel like I am finally coming into my own… I feel like I’m finally discovering why I’m here, what I have to give… and I feel like I want to take all the women of the world right along with me, finding our voice together, hand in hand. Does that sound cheesy? As I type it, I realize it might… and yet, this is what I feel… deeply… pounding in my heart. I love being a woman and I feel so much power

Goddess at High Tide

Goddess at High Tide 11 x 14 inch gallery wrapped canvas with finished sides Available as Giclee prints as well as the original canvas The second in my new Goddess series, this has become one of my two ultimate favorite paintings I’ve ever painted. My other favorite is Nighttime Reunion… that one just rolled off my brush. This one… not so much. This painting was a labor of love. It took about three times longer to paint then I had anticipated… I got an immediate vision and knew exactly what I wanted to paint… yet actually painting it was a

Thoughts on Health… A Poem That Wrote Itself

a close up on my All Is Well original painting Welcome back from the holidays!!!! This Monday I was planning on doing a FAQ about Homeschooling… until I woke up this morning with a poem half out of my head and the other half wiggling out. I didn’t want to forget a word of it, so I grabbed a dull pencil from my nightstand and wrote the words down in the margins of the closest book I could find. I’m walking a very raw path right now… transforming and still in the creative process of merging my old life (analytical,

Thoughts On Health…. Thyroid

“When you take charge of your life, there is no longer need to ask permission of other people or society at large.” -Albert F. Geoffrey Our thyroids do so much for us. The thyroid is one of the main centers of control in our body… we have so many parts that help coordinate and regulate our organism as a whole… the brain, the heart, the pineal gland, the thyroid… all of these organs work for our entire body… maintaining the health of our body as a complete organism. Unlike the big toe, who is maintaining health for itself, the big

Thoughts on Health… why I’d take friendship over medical advice any day!

I was at the beach with two friends of mine, enjoying the late summer sun and playing in the waves with the kids. Unfortunately, I was also battling some horrible neck tenderness and muscle pain… I blog about that here. On this day in particular, the base of my skull hurt so badly I was having trouble just sitting up straight, talking, carrying on a normal conversation. Certainly wearing my hair back off my face in the sticky salty ocean breeze was unthinkable, the pain was too severe. My two friends were so amazingly kind and generous… with their empathy
