My Latest Painting: I Am Nothing, I Am Everything, All At Once

Today I want to share with you the latest painting I just painted. You can probably tell from some of my recent blog posts that I’ve been thinking a lot about the preciousness of our fleeting time on this earth.  About how our bodies reflect God’s divine design, and about the beauty that is inherent in the death transition.     So I wanted to paint it.   To somehow capture that moment when your physical body releases your energetic body and the dissolution of the tangible flows into the intangible.  How must that feel? I think how it must feel […]

It’s Never Too Late To Extend Your Life Just By Getting Active

Dammit. Now none of us have any excuse to not exercise.     All my life I hated exercising in the traditional sense — I loved playing soccer in school and I loved chasing after my kids as a mom and I love going on long walks after dinner as a middle aged adult… it’s not that I mind being active… but as far as an exercise program, I never could stick to it. Yoga classes, pilates classes, step aerobics classes, running, biking, even trying out a personal trainer… I could just never stick with it because I

Saturated Fat Does NOT Increase Mortality

This week, many of us are heading into the holidays.   And as you head into a week of parties and connection and warmth and pot lucks and FOOD… I can think of no better holiday gift than this:   To share with you, directly from the medical literature, the truth that saturated fat does NOT increase mortality.     It’s not about the fat… saturated fat intake does not increase rate of death. Those with higher morale lived on average 5 years longer than their more pessimistic counterparts. If folks who are already 85 years old

Inspiration For Your Journey Today

I am so blessed to receive emails from a dear soul named Michael.   Michael lives across the ocean from me yet speaks right to the heart of things so clearly that I feel as if he is standing right next to me.   Michael knows about big transitions, about pain, about suffering… and because of this he knows a lot about joy, and love, and interconnection.   You see, Michael has inoperable cancer. And yet, through this journey Michael feels alive, he feels love, and he understands more deeply than most of us that emotions are all interconnected… and
