What it feels like to go back Home.

So I was telling my kids about my recent trip out of the Universe… how it felt so light and expansive to reach past the confines of our universe… and my daughter instantly knew what I was trying to say.   “It reminds me of how I feel when I am swimming. I am holding my breath underwater, and as I come up to the surface, I break through the top and take a big free breath. It feels amazing,” Clara said.   Holy. Crap. YES!   This is what took me paragraph after paragraph to try to explain on […]

My trip outside of the Universe (warning… gotta suspend judgment to make it through this post!)

You might have to bear with me for this post. I feel like I’m taking a risk sharing this with you here… not the typical blog post you might expect from a rational sane educated woman… so be kind to me here. I just feel moved to share with you this crazy daydream I had. You could call it a vision… a trip outside of the Universe. No drugs involved, I swear. What got me there was love. Pure love! Let me explain: I was driving with my kids and listening to music and hearing them chat back and

A Goddess Delivers…

A Goddess Delivers, canvas and Giclee prints and cards now available in my shop!   My lovely midwife and herbalist friend Adrienne Leeds, of Abundant B’earth, was generous enough to share a writing from Whapio Diane Bartlett called The Holistic Stages of Labor that I truly enjoyed, and *felt* very much like what I wanted to convey in my painting: “The time of the Birthing Tides generally feels good to women. No matter how tiring or exhausting her journey, the Mother experiences a second wind, a new spurt of energy and excitement. The birth now becomes more of an

Goddess at High Tide

Goddess at High Tide 11 x 14 inch gallery wrapped canvas with finished sides Available as Giclee prints as well as the original canvas The second in my new Goddess series, this has become one of my two ultimate favorite paintings I’ve ever painted. My other favorite is Nighttime Reunion… that one just rolled off my brush. This one… not so much. This painting was a labor of love. It took about three times longer to paint then I had anticipated… I got an immediate vision and knew exactly what I wanted to paint… yet actually painting it was a

Spiritual Give-a-way… a dynamic pairing that will blow you away!

I love the Internet. It’s connected me with so many amazing souls who I never would have otherwise met… at least, I think. I wonder if Jorie and I would have crossed paths at some other point on our paths… I certainly hope so. Because she is an amazing person with so much love and joy to give and I’ve deeply enjoyed our on-line friendship. Jorie found my artwork on day a while back, and we have struck up an easy and inspiring friendship over art, children’s books (she’s got one in the works right now, and it’s amazing!) and

Thoughts On Health…. Thyroid

“When you take charge of your life, there is no longer need to ask permission of other people or society at large.” -Albert F. Geoffrey Our thyroids do so much for us. The thyroid is one of the main centers of control in our body… we have so many parts that help coordinate and regulate our organism as a whole… the brain, the heart, the pineal gland, the thyroid… all of these organs work for our entire body… maintaining the health of our body as a complete organism. Unlike the big toe, who is maintaining health for itself, the big

Thoughts On Health… Death and Dying… revisited.

First, let me say that I really miss the health collage series. I have a collage of the thyroid to share with you, but my (step) grandfather died last week and I have decided to push back the thyroid collage until next Monday. This past week, I’ve been thinking a lot about death and dying, and watching my loved ones grieve. I think I’ve been extremely lucky to have two fabulous role models in my family for death and dying… both my grandmother Grams and my grandfather Cass transitioned quite quickly once death became inevitable. I really admire them for
