Thoughts on Health… the Brain, part 2

Part two of Brain Health today… the energetic health of our brains! Coming up on Friday… a painting reveal! See you there! xoxo   When nothing is sure, Everything is possible. – Margaret Drabble     On Monday, we talked about how the brain ages… how it’s natural tendency is to get stuck in routine, limited by the confines of the skull, limited by concrete thinking. As we age, our brain goes literally from being malleable, flexible, growing, open fontanels and unfused skull plates… to encasement in bone, linear thinking, a huge storage place for labels and facts, repetitive neuronal […]

Thoughts on Health… The Brain, Part 1

Thoughts on Health… The Brain, Part 1     There’s a lot of suffering in thinking you should know and be right and figure things out and that sort of thing. When we are out there in ego, we believe we can know and should know. When we come back to center, we realize that we don’t know and we don’t need to know. So it’s a coming back to center that has us on the right path. – Cheri Huber The brain is our knowledge power house. It is our database, stores our memories, sorts facts, a

Thoughts On Health… Cell Phones

This one is a disturbing one. If you want to think happier thoughts, just click on over to Martha Stewarts blog or some craft blog… because today’s topic is a bit of a downer. I wanted to share with you a very recent, hot off the press research finding that was published only two weeks ago in the scientific literature. It concerns cell phones. Cell phones are part of our world. If you aren’t talking on one, chances are the person sitting five inches from you on the bus or train or standing next to you in the check out

New Beginnings

The past several nights have been near freezing temps and I wake to find a frosty lawn. It makes me worry that I put my seedlings out too early, so I go to check on how they have survived in their makeshift greenhouses. Walking out onto my front porch, I’m reminded that life doesn’t always run as smoothly as we hope. Not only have the temps been dipping below what I was anticipating, but the cover to one of my greenhouses has blown away in this passionate windy weather we’ve been having. Making do, by putting some saran wrap over

Thoughts On Health… Cosmetics

Clara takes a few pictures of me plucking my eyebrows… and plucking my brows to open up the eye area is my favorite “beauty secret” by far! Although there are many types of preservatives and artificial colors and scents in make up that I’d prefer to avoid, I don’t have any set rules. I prefer not to use formulas with parabens in them, or petroleum products… but at the same time, I have a huge amount of respect for the human body and it’s ability to take in what is wanted, and filter out and excrete what is not. Yep,
